Evaluation AS 6

I have learnt a lot about the technologies from the process of constructing this project and some of which have kept me on my feet and organised for the entire project.

For example, in order to plan and evaluate myself and Charlotte's opening sequence as well as research what makes a successful thriller, I used blogger. Using blogger allowed me to document each of my different types of research and  on what I needed to do and give me a clear understanding of where I was in the project and how much information I included; also how to go about certain key elements that are needed within a thriller.
By doing this, I was then able to conduct all my research into a blog and keep track of my progress with regards to the skills that I have learned, and the skills of which I have now applied to my opening sequence. Many of the blogs were to do with the research following then to the thriller. I researched into conventions of a thriller and what made thrillers successful so I would then be able to produce a successful final product. We also conducted questionnaires which we then posted into blogger and we used this for Microsoft Xcel.  Blogger also allowed me to keep all of my work organised and clear for myself and others to read, this was important throughout because lack of organisation would delay the process of making the thriller as I wouldn't have known how to carry out the planning of my opening sequence clearly

Another piece of technology I used was the camera and tripod. The camera enabled me to film my thriller and gave me the opportunity to use many different camera shots such as Point of View, Handheld , Close-ups and High Angles.  When editing it was easier to film certain angles before others and to piece it together smoothly and successfully due to the successful filming with the camera. Alongside with the camera that I used came a tripod. The tripod helped my Charlotte and I to accomplish the necessary camera shots on an even and stable level so that our filming looks more professional and so that we had a much better focus on the action we were filming. Having POV camera angles in thrillers is very successful, but by having it too much can make our final product look unprofessional and amateur which is something my group and I do not want to achieve, therefore using the tripod allowed us to experiment with how to handle our camera shots too. The POV camera angle came from inspiration of Paranormal Activity and this gave us great help with filming as we used POV whilst also the focus on specific things by using the tripod.
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

Finally onto the technology that helped my group and me to develop our final product further, is an editing programme called Final Cut Pro X. This programme allowed my group and I to view all of our recordings and let us piece the final product together. It gave us the ability to make our ammeter project look very professional as we had the chance to use the special effects such as blur, swipe etc so that the audience felt more intrigued and interested in the opening scene. With regards to the sound and credits, that was also put together on Final Cut Pro X, and were able to mix sounds together to create one lengthy track to cover us for the entire scene. This gave us the suspense and tension we needed for it to be a conventional thriller scene.
WHAT DID WE USE? - CUT TOOL TO CUT FOOTAGE, FAST FOWARD, PROJECTOR EFFECT,

Lastly, to create my evaluation I first used Microsoft Word this was so it was easier for me to put it onto blogger so I could edit my writing alot easier rather than to continually save and draft my work. I also used prezzi  as it allowed me to section my work off in a more productive way and show more o interesting and modern twist to the typical essays.

  1. Your analysis of question 6 shows a basic understanding of the type of technologies you have use for the production of your thriller sequence as you have briefly stated what you found difficult as a group and how you overcame this.
You need to discuss your own personal strengths/weaknesses and elaborate on points made.
